April 19: Good Friday
5:45 p.m. Family Eucharist in Fellowship Hall features a communion service
recalling the way of spiritual ancestors in the first centuries
celebrated the Agape (“Love”) Meal together. They ate a simple
meal, as a family, recalling Jesus’ sacrifice and love for us all.
6:40 p.m. Journey to the Jerusalem–a procession beginning from Fellowship Hall.
Led by the light of Christ, we process to different places on campus,
to recall and relive Jesus’ steps on Good Friday. We hear selections
of scripture and say brief prayers as we move from our Family Eucharist
service to the Tenebrae.
7:00 p.m. Tenebrae Service of Shadow and Light –Sanctuary–Tenebrae
is a traditional service of light and darkness built around the
passion story. Tenebrae services are moving and meaningful.
At Hillcrest, the way we do it takes Tenebrae to another level.
Join us at 5:45 for the entire program, or at 7:00 if that’s not possible.
