David Kohls plays guitar and accompanies Hillcrest’s choirs and soloists at worship services as well as playing other church functions throughout the year. Some years ago, David was a member of a number of performing and recording rock bands in San Francisco and the Midwest. Ron Borland sings, plays guitar, mandolin, and percussion. He enjoys writing songs with Christian themes and strives to include a variety of musical genres in worship services. Ron taught the History of American Popular Music course at Humboldt State University (“most fun I ever had in a classroom”) and served as manager and program director at KHSU (Arcata, CA) and KDVS (Davis, CA). Ron has played at the 8:30 service at Hillcrest for the last 3 years and, before that, performed regularly at First Congregational Church (Antioch). Dee Dee brings a beautiful voice and a great talent on the guitar to enliven our morning service and other special occasions.
